Merino base layers with some kind of fleece over them.
Then I like an outer jacket that incorporates down or primaloft with a quiet fleece exterior. There’s several brands that offer it like kuiu, Asio, code of silence, predator.
I’m not picky on my boots, but toe warmers and boot blankets are the ticket. For really cold, I agree the heater body suit is hard to beat. As suggested before, a lot of trial and error is needed. Factors like Time in the stand, are you hunting morning or afternoon, as mornings are colder and gradually warm up. Either way, I like to wear my base layers on my walk to my stand and pack in my Jacket, boot blankets, and any extra gear in my backpack so I don’t over heat to start.
