Since Vortex is now offering a Razor HD in 10x50 I am having a hard time deciding between the two models. Is there really that big of a difference between these two models to justify the extra money? What if any are the major differences between the two? I've compared the specs and they are very very close in all categories. Which would you pick and why?

I just got some Viper hd's 10x42. I felt the vipers where worth the upgrade over the diamondbacks. I did not feel the razors are worth the upgrade over the Vipers.

I'm not BB or Aron who has spent days looking through high end glass. This was just from me picking them up in the store. I was told that you can glass for about 10 minutes longer/sooner with the razors then the vipers.

I guess what I am saying is it depends on how discerning an eye you have.

I had the 10x50 viper HDs and for me I didn't like the narrow field of view as it compares to 42mm models. I now have a pair of 10x42mm razor hd, but I didn't ever compare them side by side, but I feel the razor is a upgrade. Optically I'm very pleased with the Razors, when I had the vipers I thought they were very good, but not quite what I was looking for.

I think the overall build quality is much better on the Razors. Try both before you buy and see what is best for you.

I think I will go with the Viper HDs. If they aren't quite what I want I can sell them and upgrade to the Razor HDs.
