Vortex Viper PST II vs. Viper HD 5-25x50 FFP

Which of these two would y'all suggest starting with? They are very similar. Viper HD is newer, w/ capped windage, push-button illumination, and is a little bit lighter than the PST Gen II (which has a great reputation from what I can tell). Is this newer model supposed to be better or replace it? Or is the PST still reigning supreme? Anyone have experience behind both and can comment on differences?

I played with both in the Vortex show room a few weeks ago. I preferred the PST personally. I didn’t like the capped windage on the HD, and the turrets felt better to me on the PST. The glass in both was very similar to my eyes.
