Vortex Viper Hs vs Vortex Viper Hd

Any recommendations on which one specifically?

Probably the 3-9x. They sell pretty quickly, but have been popping up regularly lately.

I have the 6x and love it. It would be fine for me at your described distances while some might feel it is a little high for close shots.

I also have the 1-4x but haven't used it a ton. The 1-4x is probably a pretty solid magnification range for your average shot distance.

That said, it's probably easier to just buy a Trijicon for a quick option.

I really like the looks of the credo and huron. I'm kinda leaning towards the credo since it has the lighted reticle. It looks like eurooptic.com has really good deals on them.
Is there a specific reticle you've used with the credo or huron you like/prefer?

The 3-9x40 I've used the red mil square and it was perfect balance of quick acquisition at low power but enough holdover detail at high mower to measure for shot placement or holdover.

The 2.5-15x42 comes with the mil center dot reticle. It's a little more fine than the 3-9 but it lights up perfectly. Trijicon's illumination really is impressive.

I've used FFP scopes and understand Why they are preferred around here, but for my use case I find SFP scopes to be preferable, and trijicon has some of the best in terms of cost, quality and features.

bought a 3-9x40 Huron last year and it is a decent scope if you dont need to look into shadows the very first/last minutes of shooting time.

the better glass of the Credo might make enough diff to see last/first minutes. I dunno, went another more expensive route.

BTW, i use a bushnell Banner 4x scope to shoot 200 yards w one of my rifles. Viper is a better scope, reticle is fine tho.
There no difference in the glass between the Credo, Huron, Accupoint and Ascent. It's exactly the same. That's straight from Trijicon. The only difference between them are the feature sets.
