I currently have 3 Elk points and I know that I have .0001% chance of drawing a tag but my wife is getting in to hunting this year (0 points). Would our odds increase applying as a group?
any insight or experiences are appreciated.

As a factual statement, you don't understand even the basics. I suggest reading and watching some videos that will give you some insight.
Why the do you think I'm here asking the question. I read the short article on the web page and found 0 videos. If you don't have any experience with the group application I don't need you in put. Thanks

I don't have any experience with the group application, but how much simpler can they make it?:

"Group applications allow you and your friends and family to apply together. A group application makes it possible for every member of the group to obtain a permit. If the application is not successful, however, then no one in the group will obtain a permit."

"To determine how many points a group has in the drawing, group members have their points averaged and then rounded down. For example: Suppose two hunters are applying as a group and one member has seven bonus points and the other member has two. Their points will be averaged, 4.5, and then rounded down to four."
