Curious if anyone has ever filed a claim with the post office? I shipped a Vortex scope back for warranty on the 4th and the last tracking was in Chicago on the 10th. It has said in transit ever since. Im sure with the current situation delivery times are longer but I'm guessing it may be lost.

I have some arrows that made it to Memphis on the 11th been in transit ever since. Hopefully they make it to New Mexico.

I put in a claim for what I thought were lost arrows ordered from BlackOvis over the summer. Took almost a month to finally arrive but I filed a claim with USPS and told BlackOvis to file one on their end and they did. The tracking still showed "in transit" for about 2 weeks after the claims but they updated to "out for delivery" on the day they were finally delivered.

I've been dealing with delayed packages from USPS a lot these last few months. Even with priority mail that they've normally been pretty reliable on the past few years.

File a claim and hope for the best if it's not insured for full value. I think chances are good it'll show up to the Vortex factory but it might take a while longer than expected.

They made some changes recently that I believe congress forced a change on today. Hopefully they can get back to normal now.

Does it say in transit arriving late? I recently bought a Zeiss scope in the classifieds it was scheduled to be delivered on a Friday. stopped in salt lake city on Thursday. Thursday and Friday said that the package was in transit arriving late. I had to look online and they said that they could arrive a few days to a few weeks after.

I have a pack I sold to a member on here and shipped late June. Still "In Transit" I filed an inquiry with USPS and was called later that day by the receiving post office and they explained that there is a USPS facility that is really backed up and has been 1 month delay minimum.

My hunting buddy also works for USPS and he said all it takes is one carrier to be forced into quarantine or actually get COVID and then it will throw the entire facility and delivery system in the local area off for quite awhile.

I shipped some pants that I sold on the classified. Shipped on the 11th. Been stuck in transit since the 14th with no updates for the last 3 days. In the last week it has travelled about 30 miles. Fail.600CD434-2830-4188-B0DD-5C2663A5CD0B.png

I'm having the same problem so far the package is over 2 weeks late, looks like I'm done using the postal service if this is gonna be the new norm.

I make custom duck calls and ship out weekly. Longer ship times have become a part of life even with first class shipping. Unfortunately, this may be the new norm for a while. At this point, I consider myself very fortunate if something arrives on time.

The founders created a great country....but they really screwed up by giving the government monopoly power over the postal service

We need more Lysander Spooners in this country

We have and the answer is that the USPS does not consider a package to be lost until 30 days after shipping. If it is not delivered in 30 days they will open up a trace/lost package report

It's really strange. Sent some stuff to southern CA and it took 2 days. Sent some stuff to Michigan and it took 10...same service same price. I have some stuff coming via USPS from Scheels in Fargo ND and the package sat unclaimed until this morning with an estimated delivery for Friday. Like many Federal agencies they are understaffed and underfunded (google what congress did to them a few years back as to why they are in the red)

Update** I think writing this post must have helped. Woke up this morning, checked tracking and it said, Delivered. Not exactly quick delivery but at least it made it. Now, to get this scope fixed or replaced and then sell it.

I've had a package bouncing back and forth from St Louis to Kansas CIty and back for the past 3 days. Definitely hit or miss on delivery times.
