I dont think people are referring to actual can failures with Airlock but rather when the high backpressure starts to impact how smoothly fired cases extract?

So you’re saying you’ve witnessed or heard first hand of verifiable Airlock failures? This is news to me.

I have witnessed - on my own rifles and on a different rifle at the S2H course - the sticky bolt lift when shooting high volumes with an Airlock ZG 6.5 on a bolt action rifle.

In my case, I was shooting high volumes of factory 6.5 Creed in my Sauer 100 to find a working load. At one session I had nine different loads and at another I had six. So, multiple 10-shot groups in one session. When I first encountered the issue, I thought it was due to some of those factory loads being “hot.” But I had it happen again and again as I did load development during hand loading as well. Since I switched suppressors, I haven’t had the issue.

At S2H, I saw a similar thing happen during the hunting rifle portion. In that case, switching to a different suppressor made the issue go away and switching back to it made it come back.

I have not yet seen the issue with the Airlock Nano, which remains one of my favorite suppressors on my new 20” Tikka .223. But I also haven’t used the Nano for extended practice sessions because it develops mirage so fast as to be impractical in that scenario.

I personally have a hard time seeing how my issues with an Airlock ZG 6.5 could possibly affect my whitetail hunting experience on my farm, but I am also not spending tens of thousands of dollars to go on “once in a lifetime” hunts. I don’t think it is totally unreasonable for someone to choose a different suppressor based on the reports. We are blessed with a huge number of options, including, for a lucky few, the OG22.

Yeah, I wish I could say something bad about the OG22 to deter people from being ready to buy it at 2:00 pm EST.

Curious if this type of design would be a Bigger problem when running the +Peak design cartridges. Just something more to consider when
Selecting a new suppressor.

I switched to an OG 6.5. I also never had similar issues with any other suppressor I have owned.

Good to know, was planning on picking one up as soon as they get back in stock at Capitol Armory.
