UM/S2H/Suppressors/Scopes and More!

I am hoping to get the OG next week, but am not sure if it will fit on a 20” Ace SP3 barrel (3b contour). From the latest podcast it should fit with the reflex portion but if the 20” end of the barrel is .76” with threading will that fit in the can? Seems like I am on the edge of this working or waiting for the bull barrel version. (Note I don’t have the barrel in hand yet to measure).

That will work fine

Give UM a call. I talked to Blaine a few weeks ago before purchasing a 22" Ace SP3 contour. Mentioned I was planning on using the OG can with it and he didn't flag that as a problem.

We have made some prototypes, and from the testing we have done, we have some work to do. I dont have an exact ETA right now. We want the can out as soon as possible, we will be printing more prototypes this week and will continue the manufacture/test/manufacture/test process until we have the design in the right spot. It took us well over 40 designs to get to where we are with the .75" OG can. I don't expect it will take that many but I just dont know yet.
How is the 1" version progressing?

I’m contemplating an OG. I know very little about suppressors…I only have one for a 22 rifle pistol. That model needs to be taken apart and cleaned. Is that unnecessary for centerfire suppressors and if so how would one do it for the OG since it is a one piece printed unit?

No need to clean centerfire cans. They don’t gunk up like rimfire cans.

Iirc podcast said they’re gonna sell 6mo worth of current production on the OG before rolling out the larger version. If the sales volume in the launch crosses a threshold they’re gonna order another printer which would advance the timeline on completion for that initial sales volume.

It's a good question. People do clean centerfire cans because they carbon up, usually by just plugging one end, filling with CLR, and washing out. I've never personally done it and just live with an extra ounce or 2 of carbon in my suppressors but I don't have crazy round counts on any of them. I could see cleaning these being cumbersome if a guy wanted to do it.

Got a Rokslide subscriber email at 7:15 AM MST notifying me that the OG was available for Rokslide subscribers. You had to click the link in the email to take you to the live site where you could purchase the suppressor. Had mine ordered by 7:30 AM, order number 1203. Promptly received an email confirmation estimated print window June 13 to June 27.

Thanks @Ryan Avery @Unknown Munitions for prioritizing Rokslide subscribers! Hopefully the print date is conservative and mine is one of the ones already printed and waiting…

Just put hands on mine, ATF stuff is submitted, confirmed that we can shoot a bunch of their suppressors next to mine…

But I don’t have the barrel yet. Things are pretty busy but I’ll see about yanking one off an existing gun & taking it to someone to thread it. Would like to do a comparison.

What rifle? I can thread a spare tikka 6.5c
Barrel for you.

That’ll work! I have a Tikka 7-08 and another Tikka with my last 243 barrel, was going to yank one of those. It’s the back & forth, time, etc with yanking one of mine. No qualms doing that, would just be a couple weeks at least. A 6.5 would be faster bc I have all that on hand.

Picked mine up today. I promptly weighed it 10.9 ounces. I alsoe ran a borescope through it... Interesting texture in there. Looks like it will definately hold onto some carbon... I'm not going to post the video to avoid giving away any trade secrets... IMG_1895.jpeg

I did notice three equiadistant proud spots in the bore area. I'm shooting this exclusively on a 6mm but might be worried if I were to put it on a 30 cal.

Those proud spots look horrible- I’d be sending that back if it was me- that’s terrible, for the price they should be perfect or close to perfect
