UM/S2H/Suppressors/Scopes and More!

Sweet! Now I will probably be needing 2! Side ports only? Looked like quite a bit of dust blew up from that brake?
A lot of this we don't have nailed down but will provide more info as we progress. I think SRS with radial or timed as options. The brake design is going to take some development work in and of itself.

We will be using silencershop for transfers inside the Unknown Munitions shop, other than that we will be form 3 transferring to any dealer of your choosing and it is up to them how they want to do the form 4.
Form 3 adds fees from the dealer of your choice. Spoke to Capitol Armory and they charge $150 fee for a Form 3. This is their margin for executing the paperwork for a brand they do not carry. The fee’s with Supressors are getting out of hand. This is due to govt regulations. I can’t wait for the bill to pass to make these OTC. Sick of spending 30+%. on taxes and fees as I do the product itself. Convenience has a price and it starts at $150. It’s worth it in that I don’t have to drive an hour 1 way to a proprietary Kiosk to complete paperwork. My previous dealing with SS have not been pleasant. CA does makes it easier as I’ve done 5 from them sitting at my kitchen table. At the end of the day the time, fuel savings and convenience are worth the $150.

Thankful UM is making them. Now purchasing is the biggest challenge thanks to Uncle Sugar regulating every aspect of my life.

Everyone write you representatives to make Supressors OTC accessories. This will stimulate the economy and make life better for everyone. Manufacturers will sell more generating more profit and creating more jobs to meet demand and it will all be American made.

Rant over and can’t wait to hear a UM Can.

Does this mean a single shot trust is available if purchasing in store?

Is there a shop near you that has a SS kiosk with cheaper form 3 fees? I think the fee at my local place was $70.

I'm personally just going to wait until capitol armory carries them.
If its never then I will just never own one and that isnt that big of a deal.
I'm done letting this forum try to give me FOMO.

The fomo is bad. I keep going back and forth on the rokstok. I've shot one and really like it. But my factory stock with vertical grip works just fine. My only complaint is how far down the top of the toe goes. It makes it hard to shoot prone really low to the ground.

I also decided I wasn't going to join the ridiculous race and wait that will start for the UM can, so I got a nomad ti xc. It's awesome. I won't have fomo on the can until I get to screw one on my gun to see if it makes a difference that I care about.

So instead, I just dropped way too much money on a pistol grip that likely won't do anything for me other than feel good in hand haha

I did the rokstok presale and I have gotten over presales.

I'm not doing the form 3 then form 4 thing. I did it with a Ab raptor and I will not do again. I already have more stamps then I have fingers so I am not desperate for another.

If UM choses to wholesale cans to captiol armory then I will likely try one. If not then it just wasnt meant to be.

I havent seen captiol armory do any presales. They post them for sale when they have serialized product.
They do presales sometimes.

UM and the guys have been honest about the gains are small compated to other products and I do appreciate the honesty and it cures alot of the FOMO.

I have more than enough cans. I have the WANTS much more than the needs. That being said I am paring down the collection and really want to move towards 3 centerfires. 1 main, 1 back up same caliber and 1 practice. I still have a few to sell off.

Both CA and SS are a 30 min drive for me. CA is convenient as I can do it all from my kitchen table and pick it up once approved. The question will be is the time and drive +dealing with SS CSA worth the $150 fee. I suspect UM will offer limited runs to CA and other dealers in the future. This will allow enough time for people to have them in hand and provide feedback. Then I’ll will likely pick one up if the reviews are positive.

I am currently evaluating the RS vs Bastion Vs MDT field stock Vs factory with mods for my Tikka build. The difference is these items are not Form 4 and can be resold easily if they don’t fit me well.

Regardless the fact UM is bringing a new product to the market is great. This may apply pressure to other OEM’s to improve. Imagine a TBAC magnus K with a 3” reflex on the back end.

@Reburn. PM when you get a chance. I am finishing up an air conditioned 300 yard range at my place. Once finished my plan is to invite Centex shooters out for a day so I can learn from people with more experience.

There is a .76” back end version that is 1.5” in diameter; and a 1” back end version that is 1.62” (IIRC) in diameter- to achieve the exact same volume as the 1.5” version.

1.62” version in a Tikka Varmint I believe.

This rifle was an absolute pike, and a turd in balance with the can the shooter initially used- not sure which but was a 7’ish inch common one. It was WAY better with the OTB can and actually manageable in balance with it.

Have i been lied to when all the pros tell me to get square behind the rifle? I need to take the S2H course.

Glad to see a version is coming out for the thicker barrels. I am a size queen and i love the proof barrels.

Yes-ish. Even the people that scream “square up” from tripods aren’t “squared” up when they are actually shooting- the shoulder line is angled relative to the rifle. It always will be unless you center the recoil pad on your sternum, and figure out a way to aim.

What you are looking for is neutral, straight line recoil. The recoil pad needs a 90° surface to recoil against.

Heathen.

100 rounds of 300 RUM from a 20” barrel. Started at 1 shot every 6 seconds or so, but by rounds 30-40 had changed to as fast as I could load and fire for 10 rounds, look at muzzle of can for 4-5 seconds, 10 more rounds as fast as possible, check, etc, etc. All videoed.

The OTB can is not a 300 Rum can, but the RUM is being used to ensure the integrity of the suppressor and not hoping the end user doesn’t find a failure. The damage was caused not by the Rum or baffle erosion, but almost certainly by metal shavings left in the can (you could hear the rattling at the start) due to not having the time to flush them. All production cans will be of course completely cleaned (and all prototypes so far have been before these). I will attach videos later.

This is what making sure a suppressor won’t catastrophically fail and injure the user looks like.

Ti color change looks consistent with 450 C, or about 840 F. So, well tested. Awesome to see.

@Brontosaurus

Right can is new, unfired. Top can is 10 rounds of 300 rum at normal people’s group shooting pace- 1-2 minutes for all ten. Left can is 100 rounds of 300 RUM loaded and fired back to back very quickly with no cool down.

To put this in perspective- almost all “lightweight” hunting cans won’t survive a fraction of those rounds without catastrophically failing- as in Scythe level destruction.

Awesome! I'll have to pick one up when the budget allows. Almost picked up a scythe. Thankfully dodged that bullet. AB A 10 is now on the way.
