Changing the trigger return spring and disconnector spring in a 2 stage trigger can produce a really light trigger.

I'm not sure if your Geissele has a captured disconnector spring like the Larue MBT or removable like a Schmid 2S. The Schmid 2S triggers are very easy to lighten. Most of the sub $100 or so 2S triggers are built by Schmid.

So @Thegman how do we change a LaRue MBT2S trigger spring for a lighter pull, and what spring to use?

I have 4 MBT2S and have shot well with 2 of them to 1000 yards in shooting classes, but a little less pull weight wouldn’t be a bad thing

Lightening the LaRue is more problematic than the Schmid.

The two springs to switch to lighter springs are the trigger return spring (trigger spring) and the disconnector spring. I would leave the hammer spring as is.

The trigger spring primarily affects the first stage. The disconnector spring primarily affects the second stage.

The problem with the LaRue is that the disconnector itself is captured by a peened pin. To pull out the disconnector in order to replace the disconnector spring, that pin would have to be drillied out and replaced with some other pin. I've not tackled that project yet with my LaRue.

On the Schmid made 2S triggers, the trigger pin itself holds the disconnector in place, so the disconnector can be removed very easily, just like on a mil-spec 1S trigger.

I used a lighter trigger spring which I think was from Kaw Valley, and actually just used a disconnector spring from a mil-spec 1S I wasn't using. That spring was a lot lighter than what the Schmid had. Lighter replacement spring kits are available though. Just have to experiment with them to get what you want.

The trigger spring is simple to replace on any of them, just find a reduced power trigger spring. The problem will be (and I'm not much help here) is getting out the LaRue disconnector for the most important part.

If I end up messing with my LaRue (it's not being used), I'll let you know what I come up with.
