Ultralight Ultralight Rifles

I haven't tried to get below the 2# 10oz rifle I built last year, for personal use anyway. Not sure if anyone else has gone beyond that. @packgoatguy ?

I think pack goat guy was at an impressive 28oz without can or optic with a 10” Bbl.
No sling needed, he probably carry’s that thing in his front shirt pocket.

Wow. That is impressively light. I still want to build one at some point.

How do the 6x45 barrels function with that solo upper? Any extraction issues?

ARC has been extracting fine for me. I haven’t run with my 6 or 22 ARC on a Solo which is tighter and harder to cycle. I’m using a BCA side charge and Warwick tactical side charge.

ARC barrels are not as light as 6x45 but you have better bullet options with factory ammo or brass available.
For a bunch of money I think you could get a 22-23 oz ARC barrel 16”. 30 oz is easy and cheap, 27ish is the lightest readily available I have found.

About time to head out. The UL-Dmr (20" bbl, <6#) on the SO flight 3 pack is going to be perfect for my run and gun scouting....in case a bear or lion shows up.

Took it from 200-500 yards last weekend and that 5x with the BH tmks are money.

Sure beats the 14# gun i was trying to carry last year 😅

I got an email from Bear Creek Arsenal and see they have 22 ARC uppers and barrels now. They also have a statement when looking at barrels that they will hold 1 MOA with appropriate ammo and rifle. They did not have 22 ARC in about May of this year.

I have 3 BCA barrels that shoot which is 100% of their barrels I have bought.

I’m running 6 arc and 22 arc as UL repeaters but have scopes that dial on them.

What upper are you using on the 6 arc? Solo? Bear creek side charger or bolt?

I am using the bear creek right side charge with their 6 ARC barrel. It’s their carrier that I cut off the back half and their 6.5 Grendel bolt.

If you go with an ARC I would follow @Thegman recommendation to remove the gas rings and rubber piece inside the extractor spring. Those two make a big different in the force required to both chamber and extract a case.

I also have a Warwick Tactical right side charge with a cut and sanded bear creek carrier and KAK ARC bolt that I have a BA 22 ARC barrel on. The Warwick is tighter that the BCA upper but both are smoother/looser than the solo upper
