Love it, although I don’t really understand the process.I slapped some paint on mine yesterday. Pretty happy with it. Kept the base black so chipping/peeling shouldn’t matter.

Nothing too crazy. Had my wife cut out some leaf stickers, put them all over, laid a net onion bag over it, and dusted the whole thing with two colors of spray paint.Love it, although I don’t really understand the process.![]()
That's got potential! Nice work!In other ULUL news. I’ve been messing with some Frankenstein magazines to see about single stack possibilities. This iteration is pretty successful so far with the 223 wyld. Hasn’t worked on the 6x45 because the necks are too wide and drag in the 223 cz 527 magazine I used for the internal single stack. It fits 2.40 COAL. Didn’t feed the 2.40s great for angle, but the 2.36s fed fine. Could probably manipulate the feed lips to change that. With my chamber I can’t go much over 2.31 anyways so not currently an issue. Might get a little more serious when I get a barrel chambered for longer seating. About a half oz heavier than a duramag.
It can be pretty finicky from lower to lower. Not just the dual feed ramps, but the AR bolt is made to push staggered rounds so there’s a balance making sure it catches the round to feed but also doesn’t catch or drag on the feed lips. These are feeding up the rib in the back of the mag. Which also doesn’t work with a bolt catch (not an issue on my ululs. If we get something that functions universally maybe we’ll have to get something made that @hereinaz or someone else can sell. That's got potential! Nice work!
They used to make a single stack AR mag for, I think,, NRA Hi-Power competition and shooting heavy bullets, but I couldn't find much info on them. Apparently they went out of use when the 77s designed for AR mag lengths came out.
They must have used the space in the rib at the back of the magazine.
Not sure how well they worked with the AR dual feed ramps, but if they feed well and someone started making something like that again, it would open up a lot of new ground for these rifles.
Yes, it should fit the scythe-ti if it has the 1.375×24I forgot to mention that it has flats for a wrench, which can really help with getting the stubborn adapters back off of your can. Oh, and this fits the Scythe-ti I believe, but verify that, as I didn't...

Zero experience with a single stack mag, but I'd sure think so. A single stack AR mag would allow about 2.45" and about 2.5" if windowed. There are guys out there that still have them. It sure would be interesting to find one.

From what I've read,, apparently DPMS used to make them. I'll contact them and see if I can find anything out.
I don't know about that, but the one I chopped down and windowed for longer col is deeply recessed. Mine is 1.2oz and holds 4 rounds, but you could make it fit more. Only 3 can be longer col without welding aluminum, with the design I copied anyhowSpeaking of 5 round mags……. Is there such a magazine as a 5 round FLUSH FIT magazine?
This is the peel and stick pad. Easy to cut. I got it for a cheek pad but it makes a nice recoil pad too.Well here she is...

Thanks to ya'll and some coaching from @ezwy , I've got my build all put together. It's a 6x45, so I've only put a couple rounds down the tube until I get some reloads worked up, but she fired. I'm hoping to get some reloads worked up and get it broke in and running smooth in the next couple weeks.
● Xcaliber barrel
● Amazon carbon tube handguard with pre-threeaded barrel nut
● Solo upper
● TN lower with polymer lower parts kit and trigger
● Hogue 15° grip
● CP Firearms buttstock with peel n stick neoprene pad
● 4-12x40 Leupold scope
Total weight - 4 lb 6 oz with 10 rd duramag
I'm pretty stoked with how it turned out and the final weight. A couple pleasant surprises were how consistent and light the 2 stage polymer trigger pull ended up being. I was planning on upgrading, but won't now unless I have a reason too. Also the 1/2" peel n stick neoprene bonded right to the buttstock and is a perfect cushion/recoil pad.

I did add some anti walk trigger pins because I was constantly pushing then back in without even firing any rounds.
Thanks for the ideas and guidance in this thread.
I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt. Especially the longer your loads get. The single stack is harder to get the bolt to catch without hitting feed lips on the bolt. Maybe I’ll get a video on the front end to see what it is doing.
Nice job on the rifle!Well here she is...

I went down to 2.5 grains of Titegroup. Accuracy wasn't great at 30 yds.Nice! I went all the way down to 2.8 grains (once) and still didn't get a squib. I also shot several rounds of the 3.1gr strait down and surprisingly that tiny pinch of power still fired off just fine every time. Seems like a much cheaper option to the atomics, and definitely subsonic every time.
*proceed with extreme caution for those that don't know, easy to blow you gun up with homemade subs. Guy on YouTube blew the mag out of his AR, so I think you need to use more powder if you have a gas port. Mine is plugged/strait pull/portless...
I got a lot better spread at 3.1 than that, but the bigger flash hole of the nas3 cases might be helping. You shoot any groups up around 3 grains?I went down to 2.5 grains of Titegroup. Accuracy wasn't great at 30 yds.View attachment 851945

Hmm, is that with a 16"? I guess the barrel I was using wasn't broken in yet, but I'm holding off until I get the new hereinaz barrel, since I'm just wasting expensive components. I was aiming for below 1062 fps to be subsonic at 10 FI shot 3.1 and down in .2 gr increments.
2.9 and above weren't reliably subsonic, but did seem to group okay. Probably good enough for close range rabbits or whatever
