FWIW - I've had the Timberline's for about 2 years now and I've found the knees and the seat are not really waterproof. The reinforcement in those areas is great for sitting/glassing/rugged so you don't have to worry about tearing them (at least I haven't run into a situation where I tore them up, and I've been through some nasty stuff in them). It could be just my experience, but the day I got them I threw them on and was playing football with 2 of my boys in the front yard...it was misting/light rain. Granted I was crawling around on my knees for a while while I let them tackle me...but my butt and knees were definitely feeling the moisture through the pant. I imagine in a light rain they'd do fine, but it seems to me they'd soak out pretty quick. Again, others may have a more informed opinion on that aspect.
