The Tiburons are awesome for warmer weather.

I agree but man I’m afraid I’m going to shred them doing anything more than hunting from treestand.

Have you had any durability issues?

I have an array of clothing: military goretex and liners, Columbia woolies, military parka pants, cheap Chinese soft shell pants, jeans galore.

If I bought 2 pants to cover archery and elk in MT what would be a good set? Do I have more than I need already?

I was thinking timberlines for rifle. Tired of my wollies getting wet from snow. Butt wet from sitting/squatting, knees wet from kneeling, legs wet from walking, etc.

I dont really have "hiking" pants. Jeans normally fill this role.

For archery I was thinking Kuiu Attack pants

Would the timberline and attack pants cover my hiking/hunting needs, or am I just looking to spend?

Consider the pro over the attack for archery, same pant really, just with built in knee pads.

Also a big fan of the De Havilland lites, had the original, the lights may be going with me in Sept over my pro's.

Only one season in them so far but I have probably put a few dozen miles on in those pants, some of it through briars and saw palmettoes(if you aren’t familiar, they are called SAW for a reason). Honestly the pants have held up really well. No tears yet.

My biggest issue with the kuiu pants is the hip vent has a liner. I myself can tell a difference between when I vent with a liner verses without. I only have open vents. No liner restriction

Why don’t you just cut the liner on your Kuiu pant?

Kuiu Axis & Kutana will do all seasons. I wore my Eddie Bauer Guide pants today on a hike and they are solid pants. Downsides are there are no side vents, not as durable, waist stretches over a few days and they don’t dry as wick. I can buy 4 guides for the price of 1 Kutana’a

I just sold them. Much easier also. The foundry vents are bigger. Many more benefits. Water proof knees and seat.

Fair enough, no mesh in First Lite pants is a no go for me thanks to bugs/crap falling in. Guess in hot/dry climates it’s the way to go for max airflow.

I really just run hot. I’m in western North Carolina and I sweat horribly.

Attacks are more of a late season, cold snap pant for me. They work for hot weather but not ideal for me. I much prefer the Tiburon for archery and they've held up surprisingly well. Prana Zion are also awesome and actually tougher and stretchy.
The guide or axis pant are for about 20 degrees or lower for me.
Also, the kuiu 97 long johns are super for those frosty mornings and windy evenings glassing when it's otherwise warm weather.

I wish Kuiu had more pants with multiple inseam lengths - only the Attacks come in 3 different lengths.

Prana Zion's are really comfy and the stretch is crazy, but they hug my thighs like a scared koala....and I don't even have big thighs.

The EB Guides are even worse leg constrictors. If Prana and EB fixed that, I'd wear their pants all the time.

I really like the look of Verdict pants. All their stuff looks good! They are small now but will be adding on as they go. I really like SG De Havillan light but I can’t really afford an almost $200 pair of pants. I’ll probably be going with Kuiu tiburion and attack or the Verdict pants.

I think it is worth spending good money on a late season pant that will allow you to stay out longer and warmer. If you have the money, the timberlines are awesome. That said, i dont think there is any need to spend ridiculous amounts of money for warm or mild seasons such as september archery. Outdoor wrangler pants are $21. They are my favorite set of pants. I wear them year round for everything including early season archery. They are relatively durable and extremely comfortable. And you wont beat the price. I will switch to my sitka pants come super cold temps.

For snowy weather, I think the Kuiu Talus Hybrid gets overlooked. I’ve been hiking in them all winter and I can get by with two layers (when active) down to -20 F. They stop wind very well and have waterproof paneling.
