Tumbling media comparison

I use rice. Less dusty than the other media i've used. Main gripe is that sometimes some grime gets in the case rim that rice doesn't clean. I get maybe 3-5 cases per 100 with rice in flash hole. I try to look at flash hole first if hand priming or on my progressive press i have a deprime die in the first spot.

Like that the carbon stays in the neck compared to wet tumbling with stainless pins.

Whatever the Cabela’s label media is and a little bit of nufinish will clean them up just fine. I’m apprehensive about the steel pins. I know tons of fellas use them but steel is harder than brass. Corn cob or walnuts aren’t.

Fine grit harbor freight walnut media is

Cheap
Too small to get stuck in flashholes
Cleans good enough
Leftover dust is my bullet seating dry lube

Not passionate enough about tumbling to try anything else
