I tool my son in 2022 and we both got nice publicland bucks. We walked a few miles in on public to get away from people for both but seen plenty near the roads. I picked a unit that looked like there was accto a large chi k of public on OnX and after I drew the tags I called the county road department or something like that and found out tje public road ended before you could get to the public. Still had a great time though. And hopefully going again in a couple years.

This actually touches on something pretty important that I’ve not seen mentioned in this thread yet. There are LOTS of parcels of public land in Wyoming that appear to be accessible from a road, but then upon further investigation, or getting boots on the ground, one may find that it’s landlocked and inaccessible for the public. Research is absolutely your friend in this situation.

Google Earth and Onx Hunt help a lot. Some counties have excellent road maps, some don't have anything worthwhile. Zoom in with Onx and you can see the property lines and know if the road is public.

I have taken 3 pronghorns, no ag near any of them. All superb eating. Just have to get them dressed and on ice fast.

I've had good ones. And I've had a couple that were so rank the dog got em.
All quartered- rinsed- iced ASAP.
The one I got in MT this year was truly bad. Young buck. Just seems like looking back- the worst ones have come from sage country. The best ones- mix of grazing/ ag country. Shoot one that's been living life by alfalfa fields.. now that's a tasty goat.

Try to find one in an area with some agricultural. Unless, you have a dog to feed.
I've killed three now and eaten multiple more. All I suppose could have gone to a small hay pivot severl miles away but I am not sure they ever did. One in particular my buddy killed had been hit by an arrow slicing it long ways along the ribs, about a 2" gash that ran from hind quarter to front shoulder. We chased it all day before he finally killed it. If any antelope would taste bad it would be that one, killed in August when temps were in the 80s and stress level had to be pegged for hours. Tasted exactly the same as all the rest, delicious. The steaks are my wife's favorite over elk and farmfield whitetails.
As has been stated many times over, it's all how you take care of the meat post kill.

I'm a life-long Michigan hunter. I've always wanted to try to hunt antelope in Wyoming. I'm a DIY guy. I've got 4 preference points. The hardest part to research so far has been figuring out what hunting units have public access. Wyoming is a heck of lot trickier than Michigan. I don't care about trophies at this point. I would just like to find somewhere I can access, and camp out in my truck for a few days. I don't mind walking 10+ miles a day. Does anyone have advice on which hunting units I should focus my research on. I'd appreciate it.

Go hunt the middle of the season. The place is crawling with hunters in the first bit of the season. There are lots and lots of pronghorn there. Even units with limited access to public land are fine for pronghorn when the crowds leave. You can tag out before your first cup of coffee is gone, if you want to.
Save up points if you want to wait for best units, but there are really good antelope in every unit, so it's not necessary. Just avoid opening week and you'll see some good animals. Also, get them out of their hide fast and the meat is fantastic.
