I tool my son in 2022 and we both got nice publicland bucks. We walked a few miles in on public to get away from people for both but seen plenty near the roads. I picked a unit that looked like there was accto a large chi k of public on OnX and after I drew the tags I called the county road department or something like that and found out tje public road ended before you could get to the public. Still had a great time though. And hopefully going again in a couple years.

This actually touches on something pretty important that I’ve not seen mentioned in this thread yet. There are LOTS of parcels of public land in Wyoming that appear to be accessible from a road, but then upon further investigation, or getting boots on the ground, one may find that it’s landlocked and inaccessible for the public. Research is absolutely your friend in this situation.
