Trophy Mounts Why do you do it?

I need land as well, and a much larger house. So then I can get serious with shooting more animals on the wall

The ones that are on my wall, I regularly find myself staring at them and re-living the hunt. The one eurasian widgeon (duck) that I have was screwed up by the taxidermist. Every time I look at that, I get pissed off at him, and don't even think about the hunt! I should just throw that one out, but it is the only one I ever shot and probably will ever shoot.

Mounts are badass. Way too pricey haha but badass. I have a couple mounts. If I had the room
And the money I would mount all sorts of stuff.

95% of everything I harvest I European skull mount (beetle clean).

But I have a couple mounts.

I like the euro mounts too. Wife's big spike I had beetles do. Plus I have several antelope and some white tail from back East. Those are all downstairs in the gun room err I mean meditation chamber. . I want to go to Florida and get a gator with a bow. That WOULD be a "hey look what I shot" skull mount

i have only euro mounts that good buddies have done for me,or that ive done myself.my favorite thing about them(besides the great memories) are a realy neat connection i get with my daughter through them. I have a mule deer that she will tell anyone who will listen",when i was 3, I ate that whole deer." And she pretty much did. last month she was snacking on some elk jerky and looked up at his mount on the wall and said "daddy, he sure is delicious."

That's awesome. My kids love a trip to the taxi, he is a super nice guy and answers all their questions explains how he does it, and always gives them an eyeball or piece of hide or something. Best experience ever was my 6 year old daughter called me while on a fishing trip with her uncle " daddy we're going to have to put this one on the wall" haha little over2 lb bluegill is now on the wall

i have actually had quite a few non hunters think my mounts were cool, being able to see these animals up close,my living room is a bit of a zoo.
