Trail cam pics, finally a cougar.

Last thing I want on my camera is a Mt. Lion.
WDFW biologist guessed this guy is somewhere in the 130-140lbs based on his head size and the pictures I showed him. Would have been cool to get a weight on him but I wasn’t packing the whole thing off the mountain.

And for size, for reference, in a study where they captured nearly 100 cougars, the biggest was around 175 pounds. Most females were less than 100 pounds and adult makes were ~125 pounds on average.

Yup. People tend to grossly over estimate the weight of cougars and bears. The Tom I shot a couple years ago was probably right at 125 lbs. Big kitty.
