Trail cam Batteries in the cold

I've not tried Lithium batteries in my Game Cams. I used them for a short period in my outdoor weather station and didn't have good results with them so I didn't move forward. Not having experiences, is there any adverse effects to the cameras themselves from their use? I know cameras generally recommend high quality alkalines, but not sure if there's a reason if lithiums give better performance.

I’ve lost a few cameras when the alkaline batteries leak and corroded the camera inside the battery tray/camera internals.
I’ve had good luck with the battery packs in my moultrie edge cameras.
