Top rut moved into OnX search tools

Anyone else having issues with "onx hunt research" not matching up with State Reg Info? I just got my 2025 CO regs brochure in the mail and I'm noticing several hunts/hunt codes that are not coming up in the onx research tools when I search for a species in a specific unit. At least two hunts I've seen missing so far are not new hunts this year so that is not the reason they aren't showing up in onx research tools.

RIP Toprut. I have had a TR subscription since about 2017 or so and really enjoyed it.

Yea, there are multiple threads on this. They are working on it. They had to move into a new interface and dump Top Rut for technical reasons. Give Onx your concerns and suggestions they need it for the different states.

Thanks for calling this out. @Nickofthewoods can you send me the hunt codes you are referring to? [email protected]
Another thing for you guys @onX Hunt. I’m looking into my draw odds for antelope here in MT. It appears as though despite my residency being set to MT that the draw odds being shown to me are nonresident odds. I have compared them to the FWP statistics that they release and the odds that I’m seeing are within 1 percentage point of nonresidents and are 30 percentage points from resident odds

Also just an update here for all you asking for us to add a table view or spreadsheet view to onX Hunt Research Tools. This is now live in the product. Here's a quick video about the new feature for you all, and more updates are coming soon. Thanks again for all your feedback!

Table view is interesting. But the WY deadline was 4 weeks ago and the OnX WY odds table still only shows preference. Completely misses random WY tags.

Still gonna be hard to trust a company that mis-steps as badly as OnX did in 2025.

For 2026, how about taking your best guess at “predictive draw odds”?

OnX has some serious funkiness going on with the sorting of their table view.

Sorted by DRAW ODDS, hardest to draw on top, 60/61 preference antelope should be on the top of the list. Not unit 27. The Onx table isn't differentiating correctly among all that are "0% @ 6 points". The number 27 is lower than 60/61 and OnX thinks that is a reason to put 27 on top?

And of course that message on the page is most problematic:
“Currently we are only showing Wyoming draw odds for the preference point draw for non-resident deer, and antelope tags.”

You can't forget to include WY random odds in your analysis and instill confidence.

@Zzyzx Thanks for the feedback. Yes the WY NR elk draw is in the past and we were giving those special and random odds here: https://www.onxmaps.com/hunt/wyoming-non-resident-elk-special-vs-regular with a link in the product for anyone that selected Wyoming + Elk in their search criteria. We just didn't have time to get them into the tool but we wanted to still provide them regardless, sorry it was not optimal but we hope this helped you with your draw WY elk draw. We are working to get Antelope and Deer special and random odds into the tool before the June deadline, but if not we will provide those odds like we did with the Elk odds in a spreadsheet with a link for anyone looking for WY + Antelope/Deer as we get closer to that deadline.

As for the draw odds sort, currently, this is sorting on the draw odds column only, "Odds @ 6pts" in your screenshot, but you are right when you look at the preference point column the sort doesn't make much sense. We will be adding a preference point sort soon as well as a preference point filter so you can easily narrow down your search on preference point hunts to a specific range you want to research. Stay tuned for more updates!!

Thanks again for your feedback, this tool is new and we're working hard at getting additional features into it.
