To camper or not to camper... Hunting and married couple trips

Is there an RV manufacturer that doesn't put out a POS? I see that GD is owned by Winnebago which I always thought was a good brand.

As I understand it, from doing a ton of research and talking to many people who have owned lots of different brands, the following brands make conventional campers that are not a POS and the price reflects that:
- Airstream
- Lance
- Nash / Arctic Fox
- Outdoors RV
- Black Series RV

Website seems to be down but their Facebook page has a lot of info too…

At my age I am looking for the most comfortable place to stay and get a warm , dry good nights sleep and some good chow so I can get back out there the next day and give it heck. Even when I was young and could sleep outside in tree stump in a 30 degree rain if had a girl friend or wife or even a young person with me I would look for the same for them.

I lived in campers a lot over the years for work. I finally settled on a cargo trailer I built out. That was fine for just me but it really wouldn’t work for my family of four.

One of the big pluses to me is it’s a place you can have all your camping stuff stored and ready to go. Makes heading out after work on a Friday much easier.

If I was going to get another one I’d look for an older one and remodel it vs buying a new one. The older ones were much better built vs the new ones that are basically balsa wood and staples.

If money wasn’t an option one of these would be on my list. https://www.westernrangecamps.com/camp-models/frontier-16/

We think it's worth it.

Pretty handy and not picky so what's good for us may not work for others. I can't stand hotels. Bedbugs, weird people in the parking lot, travel time, moving stuff in and out every night. No way.

We just got a new to us camper that's a little bigger and older. Solid construction that just needs a bit of updating. Honestly, our last camper once we had it squared away took almost no maintenance. It was a dry camper so we had that going for us. This new one we will keep the plumbing.
