Tipping

I agree with what you are saying - to a point. The 100K hunt cost is what buys that “team”.

I have all four sheep and have never had more than I guide and a wrangler with me. With a cook at base camp. On the last hunt there were other guys out scouting/looking on the last few days of a 21 day hunt since their hunter had tagged out. I tipped them of course, but not as much as the guys who were with me for 3 weeks.

Each situation is unique so I judge them accordingly.

RMBH we had 4,
DBHS had 3,
Dall had technically had 3 , 1 and then 2
Stone is Aug,

Very out of touch I guess, How are guides wages based. Do they get a flat fee from the outfitter and then rely on tips to pay the bills? Just trying to add other views to the topic... Joe

I usually get day rates and pay day rates between 2-300 plus fuel and food, no pay for travel days and typically it’s set amount for the hunt.

I think he’s saying he’s got 0 experience in the industry, but is trying to sound like his opinion matters.

Correct, zero experience in guiding for wages. My opinion does matter but will not argue to point...Joe

Sounds like a good livable wage for some. Thank you for your experienced input... Joe
