Curious about this tracking device. Do any of you guys use one? We don't have cell service in our remote valley but do have sat-net based wifi to utilize for cell use and text, curious if I can set several of these up on our vehicles and other valuable stuff.
Is this a gps-based device or simply for small stuff around the house?
Thanks for the input!

Keep in mind there is no GPS receiver inside the tile. They work by connecting to a phone app via Bluetooth, and then establishing their position. So to your question, it’s intended to find your keys around the house. If someone drove off in your car you have to get within 300ft of its new position to find it again

Who are you using for your sat-wifi? HughesNet or a different company? In the same boat here, no cell coverage in the canyon.

Bringing this back up, has anyone had luck or experience using these tile mates while hunting? I would seem that the ability to have a map of the last signal where your key was, and the ability to use your phone to ring the key when within 400 feet (or use the tile on your key to ring your phone) would be great! I lost my key while belly crawling 100 yds on some pronghorn, took quite a while to find em in a sage brush...

I have used it and realized I forgot my keys at a friends house. (brought keys in jacket and we took wife's car,,,for some reason I took them out of my coat and put them on his counter) map showed last contact there and I remembered. so The last contact thing is nice. Not hunting but similar idea map showed general location.

Another thing is it will bounce off any other user of the device so technically it could be tracked. If anybody who uses Tile comes close enough to it their phone/device picks up the signal and sends it like a chain message I believe.

As far has hunting goes one problem is if you tap the tile twice your phone has this loud obnoxious ring that would clear the mountain out regardless of you silent mode. I hit mine all the time.very annoying

I am not sure some of what was said above was right. A friend recently had her car stolen and was able to locate it based on tile. She didn't drive near it to locate it, but rather another person in the tile network drove near it and located its position.
