Tikka’s market share on bolt actions

I know that they are "on the market" but I cant recall seeing any in the real world in the last... maybe 5 or 7 years. Anyone else?
Even Tyler Freel wrote an article recently about them being "out there but not out there" so I am not the only one.

Remington is making rifles again with another new owner. They have brand recognition so even if they are garbage they will be bought

Where I am at here in the Ozarks guns are tools. Full stop. Someone down here would no sooner spend extra money on a bespoke trailer hitch than they would a gun.
A family down here will have 10 "utility" firearms for each "family heirloom" rifle and they heirloom rifle doesn't ever leave the gun cabinet because guns that get used get damaged and we cant let Grandpa's ole rifle get damaged.

I’m still shocked that all those plastic cheap rifles sell so well. Of course I understand budget, but I also grew up in an era when guns were considered cherished tools, family heirlooms. Guns were something to be proud of. You saved up for them. Craftsmanship was to be admired. I’ve tried, and regardless of accuracy, I just can’t do it with a cheapo gun. Fit and finish and thoughtful craftsmanship matters to me.

Savages and Ruger Americans make me sad.

just guessing, but i would think savage axis, and ruger american, and cva are killing them. my local store cant keep cheap bolt guns on the shelf.

Icon from the Freight has been giving ole Snappy a run for its money in side by side comparisons. And I used to work for Snap-On, so it kind of pains me. LOL

European companies typically aren't very responsive to evolving with consumer needs and desires, nor is CS typically great. Tikka isn't an exception.

Having to go through Beretta USA for CS is another hurdle for growth.

If you are asking me...

Yeah, any CS for Tikka stuff here stateside has to go through Beretta USA, which most would say isn't a good thing.

I just mean, everyone acts like Tikka/Sako should have their own service... why should they when Berreta owns the companies and does the importing? It's no different than ANY other industry when a company is the importer/distributor for a product... they handle the warranty of the items they import.

I'm not saying they should have their own service.

What I'm saying is that Beretta USA is known to have atrociously bad CS. And with Tikka, you are tied to that should you need CS.

I have not seen many Tikka at all on any hunts I have been on. Have my own private range so not sure if they show up there. Remington was by far the most popular bolt gun for many years and since they went down the market seems to have went cheap like Ruger American, Mossberg, Savage or very expensive. Browning seems to be the most popular middle of the road rifle these days with some Tikka, Bergara, etc. Win seems to be doing ok with wood/blue stuff but not as popular as used to be

They are not like Ruger, Remington or kimber where every second one has to go back for remedial faults

So are you making an argument that the tikka is superior to all those other brands?
If it is truly a better rifle then the CS experience should be the same. Especially since there are so few issues.
Producing a good product doesn’t excuse shit service.

My personal experience has been quite good. Every issue I’ve ever had was resolved in a timely manner.

My point being that other posters have had bad experiences with CS. If that’s the case, you can’t dismiss bad service because there are less spoken issues. Regardless if it’s your preferred brand or not.
