Tikka T3X trigger spring upgrade worth it?

I've run yodave springs on 4 tikkas now with zero issues. I think they are worth it over the stock spring. He's an island local and everyone I know that shoots tikka run his springs as well as three shops that build tikka "customs". Never heard of an issue but I know form has referenced in the past something about only running the factory spring. I'll keep using my yodaves happily until more evidence of failures are shown

What sort of problems does it present? Do the benefits out way the potential problems?
More likely of failure. See the post above yours with the link.

I think the factory springs are great. So increasing likelihood of problems for a minimal improvement isn’t appealing.

I have some with the yodave in it and some without. I prefer the yodave spring triggers. I've never had an issue, but some have on this site. I don't shoot 10,000 rounds a year and I don't run my bolts like a raped apes.

As has been pointed out, once you get a few thousand cycles on the aftermarket spring, it may fail. There is a pretty big difference in the aftermarket springs and the factory one when it comes to the gauge (size) of the wire used to make the spring.

I am able to get my factory triggers down to around 2-2.5#. I do have aftermarket springs in two of my Tikka triggers but both of those are "bench guns", not hunting rifles, so if I have an issue, it will be under much more controlled conditions than in the field.

I have over 1500 rounds on mine and have no issues with an aftermarket spring.

As for the referenced failure thread, the OPs folllow up post was interesting. He still had failures even when he put his factory spring back in place.
