When is the final reveal?
Later this week. Waiting for the paint to cure until my weekend then will clear coat and assemble once dry. Still haven’t ordered the new bolt handle, but can do a sneak peek reveal before it’s totally done.

Get the trigger springs, ~$10 you will end up converting all of your tikkas. I changed the springs and then set the pull weight to the heaviest I could with the spring and it is awesome.

I see on the product page it recommends to do a “drop test” after install to insure it won’t fire from that.
did you do this?

I don’t know about him, but I did and had no safety failure.

I can't wait to see the finished product! Cool project.

I'm really interested to hear all this feedback about the MT trigger springs. I have 2 of them, but haven't installed either. Same rationale as people mentioned above...factory trigger is so good, why mess with it? But the above comments have inspired me. I'm going to install one tonight and see how it feels.

EDIT: my springs are YoDave not Mountain Tactical.

I've put the new trigger spring in all the Tikkas I've ever had. 1.5# is better than 2.5# in my book. That $10 spring buys me that extra pound.

Ok. I don’t know what I was waiting for. Just put YoDave springs in both my Tikkas. I thought the triggers were good before, but now they feel even better. I’ve had those springs sitting around for months, just couldn’t be bothered to take 3 min and put them in. Thanks for the motivation guys!

paint job is done for now. Far from perfect, and even damaged part of it during reassembly that I had to fix. But all in all, I think it looks ok.

Still need to order the new bolt knob and install the new bolt shroud, but it’s coming along

May try to find a different clear coat that’s more durable. The Krylon clear I used seems to chip easily.

What trigger guard is that?

I put a Mtn Tactical spring in my rifle and agree it is a nice improvement. Tried installing one in my wife's rifle and it wouldn't work. Still not sure why. Tried several times and it just doesn't function. Really odd. Just reloaded a bunch of ammo for them so will probably try again.

It’s a Mtn Tactical bottom metal.

Same for me. My sear would not engage when I closed the bolt. I tried Lumley and Mtn Tactical springs. I eventually switched to a Timney trigger.

Ya, super weird. Both T3X 6.5CM. ????
I think it just has to do with the tolerance of the trigger. Iv got a hand full of factory triggers. Some go to almost a pound and a half, some I can’t get under 2.5 pounds. This is just from the factory. Personally on my hunting guns I like it at 2 pounds.
