Looks great! Nicely done. I’m curious how strong the foam reinforced with carbon fiber will be
Interested in how this turns out. Especially the strength and durability, I have a pile of factory stocks to play with
@mddat nice work, jealous of your carbon fiber skills. I’m using a LEM vac sealer and my cloth keeps bunching up when I pull a vacuum. Makes for a lot of sanding and rework. After all the carbon was laid I put on 3 thin layers of epoxy as a top coat. Gave it a wet sanding then a sponge paint job and added some clear coat. Finally I shaped and glued on a flip flop recoil pad and cut down an old arca rail I had laying around and attached it

I wanted this to be ultra light stock and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out, not sure how long it will last but I can always fix or add more layers if need be. This will be going on a .243 I have but I’m waiting on my scope to show up to shoot it, I’ll also be shortening the barrel to 18”. Hopefully I’ll get out in a couple of weeks and see how it does.

I used Permatex heavy duty spray adhesive, seemed to work pretty good@mddat nice work, jealous of your carbon fiber skills. I’m using a LEM vac sealer and my cloth keeps bunching up when I pull a vacuum. Makes for a lot of sanding and rework.
How did you attach your recoil pad to your stock?
I don’t have it written down but next time I pull the stock off I’ll take a pic and post it hereDo you have the actual weight on your first stock? Thanks
Thank you. TomHere is a factory stock I have with pistol grip and the first modified stock I have with vertical grip
