So.. From what I understand (could be wrong so don't shoot me, pun intended):

1) It sounds like there won't be a "superlite" version of the T3x @ Cabela's/SW besides the wooden stock one
2) The T3x Lite weighs give or take 4-5oz more than the T3 Lite (and even more than the superlite)
3) T3x Lite will cost about $150 more than the T3 Lite did

It sounds to me like now might be a perfect time to pickup a Superlite??

I recently picked up a 7 mag T3lite. If the only difference is 4 ounces then maybe it's not really worth the extra cost or worry to find a superlite. I paid 499 for the blued lite version. I know ultralight is trendy right now but unless your pack and all your other gear is super light then I don't think you will really notice 4 ounces.

I can tell you that I need to put a decent amount of shoulder pressure into the lite to get consistent groups when shooting off my pack or any slightly imperfect positions. I wouldnt consider myself an experienced long range shooter but with only slight pressure groups at 400 yards open up considerably (from moa to 2 or 3 moa) and I don't think the recoil from the 7 mag is all that much.

The improvements to the 3x seem to be mostly cosmetic but the recoil pad may be a great improvement.

Bottom line... buy what you want but don't count out the regular t3 lite if you find some good prices in the near future

I emailed Sportsmans Warehouse and Cabela's and asked them if they will be getting T3x superlites in the future. They said that they will carry the T3x superlite although they do not know when and what calibers they will be recieving. I can forward emails if you want. I believe that the only difference between the lite and the superlite in weight solely comes from the fluted barrel. I could be wrong though. I'm also not sure what the cost difference will be. I personally am holding out for a T3X Superlite in 7 mag, although I also think that you can't go wrong either way.

Beretta USA might market a great line of products but their customer service SUX ! SW OR Cabela's have not the slightest clue what will show up until it's on the loading dock so don't let them blow smoke up your hiney - If a person shops it a bit you can make the improvements the "x" offers in a lighter gun, ditto + for the SL version - In a production rifle, aside from Kimber and Savage LH there really isn't a better choice and personally feel the Tikka gives better performance out of the box - As far as the absence of a 3 function safety the Rem 700 offers the same albeit the bolt flips open when cocked and look at THAT rifle's loyal following - A 5 round long action magazine can also be had now to sweeten the deal - For THIS working man the Tikka T3 SL fills too many voids not to go with them

You'll find the T3x online at Eurooptic long before you'll ever see it at Cabelas or Sportsmans warehouse, and that being said I'm guessing it will be awhile until they even get to Eurooptic. All those new T3x's are in Europe, New Zealand and Australia right now. I'd sure like to try one out though : )
