Hello everyone I have a semi custom build in progress Tikka T3 Action, Bell and Carlson long range sporter adjustable cheek piece stock, Proof research carbon fiber barrel 7mm SAUM and a Leupold VX-6HD Gen 2 3-18x44.........Setting this up for a long range (1000 yards) Hunting rig. I am trying to decide what scope rings to use? I think I would like to mount the the rings directly to the receiver using the pre-drilled and tapped holes in the receiver. What mounting rings/systems and what height do you all recommend? All and any advice welcome

Unknown Munitions are great. I have a set on one of my rifles, but if you want to spend a little less and still have great rings, Talley is a good option too. You can email them about what scope and rifle and they will tell you what height they'd recommend.

Skip that (such as the tallys) and go with sportsmatch or unknown munitions rings that clamp to the dovetail. With the dovetail ones you can always inspect the screws to make sure they haven't loosened and also you can take a scope off a rifle without taking the rings off a scope, IE you can just put it right back on the rifle (or another tikka) and just adjust the zero a little as needed vs completely remounting.

Tallys you don't get the above mentioned benefit where you can move a scope as easily and also the ring to rifle screws are buried under the scope. More than one person has had those come loose which often goes unnoticed until really loose and to check/retighten it means completely removing the scope to tighten them and then completely remounting the scope.
