Talley Rings Mounting Issue

Hi, I was trying to mount my Talley scope rings directly to my Tikka T3x Lite but noticed the screws provided won’t screw into the receiver. The holes don’t look threaded after a closer look. Does this Tikka only take dovetail mounts? A little bit confused because everywhere I saw said Talley rings work perfectly for the Tikka T3x and I even emailed Talley to double check before ordering.

Here is a link to my Tikka: https://www.eurooptic.com/tikka-t3x...jxj-Z-Wrpg5ZMpcJLAaOVA6cWBDUTuLbUMKzd38VAR6VO

Any help would be appreciated. TIAIMG_2718.jpeg

The ones with the slotted heads are in the tapped holes, you need to take them out first. However, I would recommend using a set of rings that clamps onto the integral rail and uses the built in recoil lug slot, like sports match or unknown munitions

Ah okay that makes sense. I was curious about those slotted heads but was unsure if those were meant to be removed. Thank you

Yep those plugs are there to protect and keep crap from getting into the screw holes until you get your scope mounted up. I put mine in a small ziplock label and put them in the box the rifle came in. But I have a lot of time on my hands and a closet full of boxes. If you don’t have or keep boxes you can keep that kind of stuff in a small ammo container. Just label it. I keep my ring boxes as well. I’m pretty long winded this morning… But enjoy your new rifle.
