I was under the impression that the chubbier prc rounds did not feed well out of the LA magazines. Can you confirm that that you're using the standard LA magazine and have no issues cycling PRC rounds? Can you fit three in the mag?
Yes, LA magnum magazine, as in 300 win, 7mm.....

For everyone chopping and threading barrels for suppressors, seems like 16"-18" is the typical cutback length. What thread pitch are y'all able to get that far back on the barrel? Particularly on a 6.5 CM.
That’s what I did.

I ask this question in another thread, however I didn’t get an answer.

I‘ve been looking/talking to Bartein about ordering a barrel for a 300 WSM, their lead times are pretty long and they said I could get one faster by ordering from one of their vendors that stock and sell their barrels.
I ask about cutting it down to about 18” they said the powder burn would be an issue. I’m not sure if he even heard I wanted to use a suppressor. When I talked with one of their vendors/gunsmith they said chop it to 16” that they are cutting most barrels real short now, including a bunch of 338’s.

Two completely different answers and I’m still just as confused as ever. I don’t anticipate being a 1000 yard guy at this point in the game, but I’m also not convinced maneuverability is worth all the other trade offs.

I would love to hear opinions or where I can go to educate myself.

The only trade off is a loss of velocity. But bear in mind, a 18" WSM will still be more or less the same muzzle velocity as a 24" .308
In fact, it's probably the same as an average .30-06
I'd hate to think i had to carry a 22-24" barreled gun with 6-10 inches of suppressor hanging off it too.
My only 'long' guns are the 2 in this thread. Everything else i own, I've cut to 18 or 20" & like probably 99.9% of folks who've done it, I don't regret it & notice nothing but positive differences.

I have a McGowen 18" 300wsm with a 9inch TB supressor. I get 2713 fps with 212 eldx handloads. I could be talked into selling the barrel. Tikka prefit

Associated question:

Does anyone know if the T3x/SWFA combo will got in a Kolpin gun boot? I want to add a carrier to my motorcycle, but I'm concerned about the height of the elevation turret.
