I like the rifle but love that book collection. I see some Louis L'Amour in there, I've got the entire collection handed down to me from my grandpa. Great childhood memories. I'd borrow one, read it, we would discuss the next time I was over.
Can't like your picture enough.

LOL. I noticed the books as well. Those Africa books have my interest.

I think I’ve read all the Louis L’Amour books now and some I’ve read over and over. Good way to spend a rainy day.

How do you like the Wit Machine Brake?

Really like it! Ugly but functional. Got it after dislocating my shoulder.

Edit: I think I’ll get a new barrel and thread it for an Alaskan 360.

I don't know if I can call it a "Rokslide Special" with a Leupold dialer on there, but here's mine next to my Kimber Hunter .308.
Tikka T3X Lite .223: barrel chopped to 18.5" (hacksaw), 3/8" chopped from the butt stock (miter saw).

I modified both of these guns to make them shorter and lighter. I definitely wouldn't have started sawing off pieces of brand new rifles without a little inspiration from folks on here. I also got the idea of a .223 trainer rifle from this site.

Can you share the stock shortening mod pics or instructions?

There's really not a lot to share. I removed the recoil pad and the plastic spacer behind it, taped the stock with masking tape, set the miter saw to match the factory angle of the stock, send a little prayer, and cut it off. I left the plastic spacer out and put the recoil pad back on. The recoil pad isn't perfectly flush with the butt now, but it's so close that it doesn't bother me. If you cut more off your stock then you might need a new pad to fit better.

Tikka 6.5 prc veil. Antelope taken at 40yds!

I enjoy these Tikka's. I'll keep asking manners to see when an adjustable stock is coming for these actions!
