Tikka integral dovetail mount, pic rail or 2-piece bases + rings?

Gasoline is the best and cheapest degreaser, alcohol is about the worst, hot soapy water is even better than alcohol
I totally forgot about hot, soapy (dish soap), water. Used for cleaning my muzzleloader for years. Super effective on barrel fouling and old grease in the threads. The hot water also evaporates quickly on hot steel.

In regard to using the Sportsmatch rings on the integral dovetail...since I won't be using the holes in the top of the receiver to mount a pic rail/bases, should I remove the factory plastic plugs in those holes and replace them with some stainless-steel plugs? If so, where can I order these steel plugs and what size are they? Or is it OK to just leave the plastic plugs in there? I'm assuming some of these holes will be covered by the SM rings and some will still be exposed? I'm still waiting on the rings to arrive.

The plugs are irrelevant so long as they are flush/ recessed.
So...just leave the plastic plugs in (assuming they are flush/recessed)? I was just thinking that for long term protection of the threads (in case I ever do decide to use a pic rail/bases) that stainless steel would be more durable than those cheap plastic plugs.

Plugs in, plugs removed, steel plugs, plastic plugs, whatever. I can't see how it would ever matter one way or another.
OK...good to know...thank you. I'm probably just overthinking it. If I do decide to replace them, do you happen to know what size I would need to get?

Another option if you want some MOA are the Hawkins Long Range Hybrid rings.
Thanks...but at this time, I don't have a need for MOA/long range rings. Max is 300 yards (rare), with most shots within 100.
