Tikka compact w/ 20 inch barrel - velocity loss

I'm thinking about picking up a new Tikka in 6.5, and the compact is a similar price to the full size blued model. With spacers it's the same size stock as the standard, and the only difference is the 20" barrel as opposed to the 24".

How much velocity loss should I expect? What would that equate to in real world terms - how much would my effective range on game be reduced? Because unless the difference is dramatic, I think the compact has a lot going for it.

Should be about 100-130fps loss from 24 to 20inch.
I recently cut down my Tikka from 24” to 19.5”, no regrets.

Not 6.5, but my Tikka T3 308 shoots handload 155 scenars at 2860 and my T3x CTR 20" shoots them at 2842, so I lost 20 fps at 2" or so of barrel.

24" tikka to 18". Eldx previously hit 1800fps at 750 yards at my elevation to just over 600 yards now.

I cut my TX3 lite from 22.4 to 20" and lost exactly 43 fps. I wouldn't worry about it.

I am getting 2592 fps using Staball 6.5 and a 140 grain Sierra Gamechanger bullet.

I soon will have my 18” barrel back from the gunsmith….cant wait to see what my loads are shooting after the reduction. 165gr Interbonds were at 2720 before the cut.

I also have a 20" T3x CTR in 6.5 Creedmoor and mine also runs several factory Hornady 140gr bullets around 2550 chrono'd at 6000' elevation.

My tikka with a factory lite barrel chopped to 20 inches is getting 2500 with a 147. Brand new barrel though so it may speed up.

Cut from 24.3" to 21". This was what I got

Hornady 147 eld-m
Avg 2500 fps

Federal 140 non-typical
Avg 2605 fps

American Whitetail 129
Avg 2630 fps

Hornady 143 eld-x
Avg 2570 fps

The same ammo in this picture was 2830 in my 22” AIAX

Does the compact just have a shorter barrel or a shorter stock?
