Tikka 300 WSM magazine options for extra COAL

Someone posted they created a Frankenstein mag by cutting the rear spacer out of a WSM mag and using a follower from a long action cartridge magazine… I did this too and it worked well. I think with mine, that’s a count of 3 folks who have done it successfully.

So my red follower MDT mags feed very smoothly, but I CAN NOT run the bolt hard. I must slow down to allow the 300wsm rounds to jump up to align into the chamber.
Pretty annoying.

Interesting. Mine has performed flawlessly at the range, but I jammed a shell "in action". I wonder if that is why - thanks for the tip!

I was just shooting mine today, and the back of the magazine is coming loose in recoil. So have to re-seat the mag after each shot in order to pick up the next round.

It’s frustrating. The gun shoots well otherwise.

As a head's up, I called HCA today, because the 300wsm mags were out of stock on the page. They have a new batch that are being anodized now, and should be available on the page in a couple weeks. However, he will take your backorder over the phone if you need one. Mike provided excellent customer service, and I'm looking forward to getting the mag and bolt stop for my Tikka 6.5 WSM.

He mentioned that is a problem in a small number of T3x. However, I'd rather install a shim than try to cut and grind on an OEM mag.
