First, I didn't know of those options...

Second, I just tried to find one of them and they don't seem to be available anywhere. Any suggestions?

Sorry, perhaps I took for granted that many on here are familiar with the issues people are seeing with unreliable factory 223 mags as a result of weak springs. There’s been a few proposed substitutes and as others mentioned, the mamba mags got very popular after they were noted to work well at a S2H course.

After experiencing consistent failures to feed on rd #5 on multiple Tikka 6rd 223 magazines it became obvious a correctly working product was necessary.

Cue the discussion following the winter S2HU class and I was apparently lucky enough to email MDT at the right time. Doug sent me an invoice which I paid at the end of February. I received the magazines last week which was about the timeline I was told when I paid.

I ordered the 223 and 308 magazines. I’ve only ran a few boxes through the 223 but feeding was smooth and worked as advertised. The magazines fit fine in the SG bino harness...

I have no issue with folks mentioning other solutions, esp. for something I don't offer an option for but I don't want the thread to loose focus from its intended purpose and dilute its usefulness to those wanting information about this product.

That’s basically been done by @Schmo . A search should find it (Waters Rifleman Magazine Group Buy). I’ll limit it to that so as to not disrupt this thread more.

Wanted to bump this thread with another positive update. I have 2 .223 mags and 2 PRC mags, the .223 have been flawless through ~600 rounds and the PRC mags flawless through ~200 rounds. They are the go-to mags that live in the rifles now. Nice work @pods8 (Rugged Stitching).

Hi, I touched on that in post #69. I developed off my personal rifles (which are all stock bottom metal), I don't have a chassis and no current plans to get one at this time.

This should probably be in a different thread but I think you should look at making a howa mini magazine. Theirs are terrible. I think there would be a good market for it, if you can get them to function

Folks keep asking me about a lot of different platforms. The reality is I am a tikka guy (and have been before rokslide craze), I have them in enough calibers to cover the basis to develop and test what has been rolled out. 6ARC is a gap that has caused some frustration/wasted time and money chasing and having to send out mags since I can't finalize them on my own guns fully. I saw in a thread on .350 legend that you are also making 3rd magazines that will fit the Bear Creek 140gr HV with the 2.430 COAL. I didn’t see it listed in the first post. I’m not super knowledgeable, so I’m wondering if you are Making specific .350 magazines or if another size you’re making is usable in this situation. Thank you.

They are a dedicated “Tikka 350” mag (3rd and 4rd), I can print some if you’d like, one person asked me to make them and didn’t get much time to try they out before heading out of town for an extended period so not much validation yet so I haven’t posted them as good to go but they can be available and I just need feedback if you find any issues.

Same situation with the “Tikka 223XL” for ~2.75” cartridge length.

Sure if you’d like. Folks have said they don’t work with the ascension mags though if that’s what you’re thinking, iirc you use those.

I do, but I robbed the springs out of my Tikka mags. So if yours work with the Tikka mags I’ll be in good shape.

They have worked in my factory mags, if you find otherwise I’ll take them back.
