I am going to start a new thread to consolidate information and ask that the old thread when this was a hypothetical project still be closed. I will add in photos and update these first couple posts as needed.

The intention of this thread is to talk about the product and not to coordinate sales.

To coordinate sales email me at [email protected] Please specify Quantity; Mag cartridge and size/round count; Color so I clearly know what you are requesting.

Initially these are going to be $35ea (complete with spring) + $5shipping (for all items in one shipment).

Please note at this time I have no intention of making a magazine bigger than 3rd (4rd 223) sized body, it was very expensive to custom order the springs for this project and will take time to recoup costs. As of now there is no intention for 6rd or 10rd mags.

Details, these have a custom spring designed to mimic the tikka factory spring and it came out close. So far it has functioned fine in all the factory mags I have tried it out in if you are in need of a replacement spring for a factory mag, I will sell the springs for $10ea. I've heard from one person that briefly tried it in a different aftermarket mag and it wasn't feeding reliably, they didn't trouble shoot it much and I haven't personally used that magazine to know what the issue may be. They work with my design and with factory magazines is what I can speak to. If others have success with other magazines and this spring they can comment accordingly.

Strength: These are not going to be quite as strong a factory magazines, injection molding and filament printing are not apples to apples processes. That said they are from a robust material and annealed for increased heat resistance. They have been fine in my use. I am sending some out the get used hard to find out what can be expected on that front. Regardless for the normal hunter/shooter I don't expect folks will be disappointed.

I am printing mag bodies in Orange (with a black follower) and Black (with an orange follower) as a standard combination.

Mag bodies that are a released design:
-223 4rd (~2.5" COAL, its a little longer than that)
-223 3rd "Flush" (it protrudes ~1/16" to fit 3rds so not completely flush) (~2.5" COAL, its a little longer than that)

-M+ 3rd (~2.97" COAL)
-M+ 2rd Flush (~2.97" COAL)

-PRC 3rd (note this is for 6PRC or 6.5PRC up to ~3" COAL)
-PRC 2rd Flush (note this is for 6PRC or 6.5PRC up to ~3" COAL)

-6UM 3rd (~3" COAL), these will fit WSM
-6UM 2rd Flush (~3" COAL), these will fit WSM

The long (~3.34") variants need to be broken up:
-LS 3rd (this will fit standard diameter rounds like 30-06, 270win, and also 284win, magnums will NOT feed properly from this size).
-LM 3rd (this will fit standard magnums and PRC diameter, standard diameter rounds aren't held tightly in the feed lips and I recommend the LS size)
-LW 3rd (this will fit WSM, it will also fit standard magnums also, its just 1/8" taller and slightly wider inside to properly fit 3rds of WSM)

-ARC 3rd - This is newly released but all reports so far is its working solid with 6ARC. Initial feedback is its feeding BR also but no heavy use yet. This should also feed dasher but not tested yet.

I haven't taken the time yet to make 2rd flush variants for the ARC or L series of mags yet but if there is a request to expedite that just let me know.

This is the 223 design going forward (V2 if you read that other thread). This shows the protrusion of the 223 "flush" mag, it needed to stick out ~1/16" to fit 3rds well. The other cartridges the flush mag is truly flush.

This shows the protrusion of the M+ and L mags, the 6UM and PRC mags protrude a bit more to fit the larger diameter rounds. The flush mags for all these cartridges is actually flush and fits 2rds.

What COAL do you need? The 6UM ones I actually designed using my wsm (it’s just a smidge bigger than saum) to function check it. Not sure if you were looking for longer cartridge length.
Chiming in I'd be interested in 300 WSM also. Tough saying on COAL - interested in what others say. I don't shoot real long bullets but you'd like a little room, maybe split the difference between long action and short action, somewhere around 3.1 - 3.2"? Just a long action length might work also but my hope is a little shorter would feed better? I have the long action Mountain Tactical (3.4") and you have to feed rounds carefully.

Any reason could’nt match the HCA gen 2? Which I believe is 3.410

I have to go back and measure what specifically I “needed”

But I think the longer would cover a lot of people.

I know in your original post you said to go ahead and just use HCA for wsm cases and the like. Which if this didnt come together I’d likley follow the advice.

L length (is that 3.34 off memory?) would probably be max to maintain some wall thickness. The HCA mags are metal and can be thinner. I have a gen 1 and it’s been solid for me.

Tomorrow I might look up some of the long 30cal bullets and see what length those would be seated with the boattail at the shoulder junction.

The guys running 300wsm with heavies are likely the guys who you need feed back from.

I just have a 270wsm barrel I got for cheap and want to load for it without the coal restrictions OEM tikka mags have.

I’m small potatoes in terms of “needs” for longer WSM coal. But would certainly buy a few if you produced them

Just received 2) .223 4 round V2 mags. The packaging is excellent, and the product looks great. No BS shipping with FedEx or Brown, which is SO NICE for us in AK. Excellent communication. Thanks to Pods for doing this, I hope you can get something back for your efforts. Highly recommend.

I ship USPS because it works decent for most (I know there are anomalies for areas), affordable still in Alaska and Hawaii, and is easiest on my end.

Got my 223 4 rounders today, unfortunately mail man didnt come before I left this morning to go shoot.

But cycled a few rounds at the work bench. These things are sweet. I’ve been using ascension mags, but yours feel a bit more durable and I really like the follower design that was the first thing I noticed. Well done I’ll report back once I get a couple rounds through them.
