Threading tikka fluted barrel?

Has anybody here cut and threaded a tikka superlite barrel at the flutes? If so do you have any pics? Also looking for gunsmith recommendations around Maryland for this type of work

I am also interested in this, I just ordered a Roughtech Ember superlite 6.5 PRC and a Mcmillan "Mountain Tracker LR" would love to cut it down to 20 inches or so to help balance my can. I am located in Michigan.

Had my 24” 6.5cm cut down to 18” and threaded 1/2x28. Rocksett an adapter on and haven’t had an issue.

Talk to Paul at Country Custom Metalsmith in Fallon, Nevada.

He cut down my RoughTec to 18”, then blended in an adapter, extending the flutes into it, new thread protector, and bead blasted it all to match the factory stainless.

Looks great! I hope to find somebody in Michigan that can do this cheaper than just buying a new prefit.

I am going to ask if he can do this but also add a shoulder and thread 5/8, that looks incredible
Mine is threaded 5/8x24. He can do it.

It’s relatively simple to ship your barreled action via USPS to him. I cut up a pool noodle, wrapped the barreled action with it, stuck it in a shipping tube, and off it went.

Most of these look like Roughtech/D18 barrel profiles which can be threaded 5/8". I believe the Superlites can only be 1/2" or maybe 9/16" at moderate lengths because of their taper.

I sent mine to kampfeld, he did great work and I got it back in about ~ 3 weeks.
