Thread adapters: Why the hate?

Nobody running boosters or nielson devices on 9mm cans?

My Evolution 9 from AAC came with a nielson device for use with a Glock.

I removed it and put a fixed barrel adapter on it and its on a 9mm carbine now. I was surprised I could order a part for it given its age and AAC being bought and wrapped up in a bankruptcy.

I don't shoot suppressed pistol any longer. It was my first suppressor back in the early 2000's and the novelty wore off.

I have several rifles i use 1/2 to 5/8" adapters that are on with rocksett. My cans are all 5/8 and all direct thread. if given a choice I prefer to not use an adapter. Looks have nothing to do with it, i mean im using several rokstocks Lol.I don't like 30mm rings with 1" inserts for scopes either, though i do have some badger steel pic rings with inserts.

I finally got my OG6.5 in hand. and come to find out two things.
I forgot to order an adapter from US while I was waiting...

I have a plain adapter on hand ,from UM, that is NOT the fancy removeable OTB adapter. Should I save my $50 and just Roksett this adapter on the barrel? is that GTG? I have no experience with Roksett but it would obviously be a huge PITA if the adapter get's stuck in the can to save my 50$. and silly to not wait a week for the US adapter to arrive.
Also FYI this adapter measure .800 OD and won't actually fit in the OG65 so I'll have to grind it down a bit if I go that route. no problem there just information.

I just had the hub adapter come off of my Nomad XC that I used a generous portion of Rocksett on to secure while I was attempting to unscrew the DT from the barrel. It's not a guarantee that it'll stick properly.

I’d buy the removable one. You never know why the future holds. That suppressor is going to last you more than a few barrels.

Until the UM cans I just always swapped out the HUB for 1/2. I use an adapter from UM with no issues. The last rifle I got in was from Karl Feldkamp. The barrel had enough to do 5/8x24. It was perfect. You can either order enough barrel to get 5/8 or custom order it to flair out to get 5/8 if you don't want an adapter.

I would definitely wait for the new adapter. I had an adapter that I had roksetted onto a barrel come off inside my ZG 6.5. As luck would have it, the special tool for removing the UM adapter was at my house, not in my range bag. Fortunately I was able to get it out of the mild recess with a knife blade.

I think it would be nice if UM/SRS could find a way to put wrench flats on the side of the adapter as well as the notches for the specialized removal tool.
