Thoughts on my own CWD situation

To be fair, we tested a Dr pepper fresh from a opened can and it tested positive for the rona' 19.

My faith in "science" is a bit skeptical to say the least.....especially when there's politics and money involved.

If your paranoid about eating cwd deer why hunt where it's found?

And it was taken to a processor...I assume every single animal taken to a processor has CWD so testing YOUR deer is moot. Your game has the prions because it's basically impossible to clean the equipment of them in a commercial grade facility. I say again, anybody in this thread that has their game processed has prions in their meat even if their deer tested negative.

Mic drop... close the thread and sticky.
I don't understand the logic of a lot of people here. If you're gonna hunt units with prevalence of CWD, you should expect your deer to have it. It's not some anomaly. Stop hunting that unit.

We took every precaution with our deer this year as our county was declared a mandatory CWD testing county. We butchered the deer without cutting any bone matter. Then, we used a specific saw to lop their melons off and take them to the test station. The buck horns get cut off with the same saw. That saw, after every use, gets the 5 minute soak of 40-60 bleach and water which eliminates the prions. We where gloves now too. There has never been a positive test in the county but one was close enough that they changed our county rules.
