Don't use the forums search function. Go to Google and search whatever you are looking for and just put "rokslide" at the end.I try and use the search function, sometimes it's a PITA to try and find information.
It's pretty easy to tell the new people bumping an ancient post to get faster access to sell.
Might not be popular, but I'd be down to paying to sell. I think that would solve a lot of problems.
Other forum I'm on its $30.00 a year, non-payers can buy from you but not sell.
Really, I am more concerned if Im going to lose enough weight by hunting season to get the jacket I bought last year to zip up…..Is this an actual problem?
Glad I wasn’t the only one, haha. All tuned up for another Rokslide reliability tech tip and then wham, normal forum business post.I thought this was about applying penetrating Loctite to screws you can't remember if you put Loctite on when you first torqued them down.
It's funny. I'll read an old thread that I don't even remember replying to. And while reading it I'll be thinking of a reply in my mind, and then find my old reply that is word for word with what I was thinking of posting. When an old thread surfaces from years ago that I posted in I find it interesting to look back and see how full of crap I was(am).
Sometimes I'll read my reply and cant believe that was my response at the time. It's funny. I'll read an old thread that I don't even remember replying to. And while reading it I'll be thinking of a reply in my mind, and then find my old reply that is word for word with what I was thinking of posting.
I will admit, when I read the thread title I was thinking "why on earth would you want to put thread locker on idle threads".

I view this forum like an archive and can answer most of my questions without asking it. But I think there is value to adding to older threads that have a ton of good information.

lol
A guy bumps an old thread. Rokslide is upset.
A guy posts a new thread, which topic is close to an old thread. Rokslide is upset.
How is anyone supposed to use Rokslide!?
Doesn’t pay the bills … DUHUse the search function and don't reply ... DUH
Doesn’t pay the bills … DUH
I like this idea in general, but I also like being able to look at older, locked classifieds ads to get a general idea of what things are selling for and this would erase all that data. Trade offs I guess. On the classifieds front; I'm on a couple of other forums, one in particular that automatically deletes ALL classified ads after 30 days of being posted. Regardless of the last post date. Very occasionally it costs someone a sale or purchase, but it's so rare that nobody really complains. It saves a BUNCH of server space & has massively cut down on the scamming.
Could just as easily see the information in the thread and send a PM or two to folks that they would want to ask questions to. Not like the thread or information contained in it would go away.can't have your cake and eat it to.....
we already chastise FNG's for not using the search function enough for redundant or repetitive topics, the fact that old threads get revived tells me many actually are using it. Take that away and the traffic on the same nonsense multiplies so which is going to irritate you more? The same questions by new guys over and over, or old threads getting revived regarding said questions?
