I am contemplating buying this truck. Im not crazy about the color, rims, or interior color. (Personal preference i know). Aside from that I cant find any real negatives to this truck/motor. What do you guys think? Its $37,900 firm. Looks like an older couple, and they state only owner. Thanks all!

Looks pretty clean. Property in the background matches the truck. If it’s what you want and you have the money, doesn’t seem too bad. He probably has all the service records for you too.

Nice looking truck. I have a 2016 F-250 diesel and love it. For the price I think you will have a hard time finding a better deal. If that was on a dealer lot it would be in the forties.

Any idea if they pulled much with it or what type of driving was done with it? I would want it looked over by someone to check on all the emissions stuff that can be problematic on diesels.

Otherwise it looks great.

I concur on emissions. I just replaced one of my nox12 sensors. Dealer wanted 420.00 for just the sensor plus labor. I found a oem Motorcraft sensor online for 204.00 and put in myself.

Overall looks like a great truck. Take it to a shop and have them go over everything with a particularly hard look at the emissions system. DEF will crystallize when it sits for a while and will start to wreck havoc on pumps, sensors, etc. have the shop force a regen and make sure that goes off without a hitch, etc. I know I’m the 3rd one to talk about the emissions but it’s the Achilles heel of diesels. My ‘22 has been flawless except for the emissions. If you can delete it, great.

2017-19 are probably the most solid years of the 6.7 as they have the updated turbo, but still have the reliable 6r140. First year of the aluminum body.

We have one at work that has been relatively trouble free that's got 250k plus on it.

Did need to swap the cp4 to a DCR at 230kish, but caught it before it imploded.

I personally like the more base models as there seem to be less failure points like the sunroof, entertainment screens, taillights with lidar etc.

So long as you know what you're getting into with a modern diesel there's nothing to warn you about with this one from the looks of it.

Delete it and it will be a great truck. The def systems are the biggest issue as stated by others. I have a 19'.. only issues i had in 100k miles were DEF related.. got rid of that and it's been great since

No idea about towing, I havnt spoke to them yet. I have heard about the def issues and I would likely delete it at some point. Thanks for the opinions

If the emissions are intact, towing is actually a good thing. Seems the trucks that are used harder are less trouble with the emissions.

Also worth looking at the idle hours on there, I know I looked at a couple trucks last time I was buying that were low miles but the idle hours had them closer to 300k of actual wear.

Mileage divided by total hours should get you an average. Hopefully that number is 30 or higher. I believe its genrrally rated at 1 hour idling as 30 miles.

Nice! I do see aftermarket exhaust in the description so that tracks. Saves a hassle if that was something you were intending to do as some point anyhow.

Still couldn't hurt to pull a Carfax and see if the owner has some service records as well.

Any time you can buy from an older first owner thats your best option. Typically they're going to have taken much better care and thats something I'll always prioritize over lower mileage or looks.
