Merino boxers and socks. End of story. For boxers I use sitka, Minus 33 & Smartwool NTS. Tried First Lite, but they fell apart faster than I could tolerate for the price.
For socks, I wear heavy weight merino. I like them so much o now wear them every day. Make sure they are at last 70% merino for best comfort. Don't get sucked in by low prices or slick marketing for lower merino content. If you can find the Team Realtree heavy weight ones that are 85% merino and stretchy around the arch, buY thennow; don't ask questions, just pull out your wallet and buy as many pair as you can afford.
The Sitka site doesn't show the boxer briefs with Polygiene, but rather with their older silver scent technology. Did yours say "polygiene" on the tags?
No kidding. I never checked. I assumed all the new stuff had it. Out of town till Th. I'll check and report back. No complaints from me either way though.
For even up to 7 days, at most I wear one pair of boxers (FL Dobson Boxer Briefs or ExOfficio Boxers) and I wear REI or FL Wool socks over REI synthetic liners. Only "extra" I bring is a pair of liners.
