lol not a thing. Now they wear them on the inside but the yoga pants are see through.

I keep to myself at the gym and don’t judge others, but the grunters drive me insane. There’s no bigger “look at me” move than making obnoxious noises while lifting weights that are too big.
God bless whoever made these acceptable to wear in public. There are a few at the gym I go to who wear them well. I just go to a different area mid-set if they set up near by. I know my limitations on not being able to look even when I make a point not to.

Definitely lots of “Bros” at the gym. I don’t really care for it, so really don’t go often.

Craziest thing I saw was in high school at our local gym. A guy in his 50s or early 60s collapsed while on a treadmill. People rushed over and started performing CPR - EMS arrived within about 8 min, but he didn’t make it.

Had a guy in our neighborhood who was an attorney. In his second life he was “that naked guy” in the locker room. Would have full conversations with others etc… walking around naked all the time. Was never that friendly in the neighborhood however.
We used to have a judge like that. In the shower and locker room he’ll come up and talk to all the attorneys in the buff. On the street, stare straight ahead. Major power play I guess? 🤣😂🤣

I attend the devils gym known as planet fitness… worst part is it’s in the ghetto here. Lots of homeless.

Notable mentions

Dude who uses cable machine to shadow box

Crack lady on stair stepper who yells gibberish for 2 hrs.

Dude in trench coat on treadmill running every day. Most certainly a serial killer.

Dude who delivers water to my bank… runs on treadmill with hands up at head height like a ghost or some shit.

17-20 year olds who workout in groups of 3-5 on the same machine. Or occupy two of the same machine while making sure they take breaks at the same time between sets

Another time I walked into the men’s locker room and looked left to see a bra on the ground next to the showers. First thought was oh shit I walked into the wrong locker room…. Then I saw the urinals and realized

Girls yoga pants that were too tight and split on the squat rack.

Watched several fights now specifically women.

Dudes who only go to the gym to talk to girls

Dudes who go to gym wearing sunglasses.. you be creepin hard bro

As I think of more I’ll come back

I've never seen anything too crazy. Anyone have the guy wearing jeans, work boots and a flannel with the arms ripped off? He looked just like the guy in the Planet Fatness commercial. He was completely jacked and sounded like a grizzly when he lifted anything. There was another guy who had to be an "operator". Punisher tattoo, hat on backwards, operator beard. He looked like a Navy Seal that was 9 months pregnant. He acted like he was jacked, always checking himself out in the mirror. I nicknamed him the Donut Punisher.

Best thing I ever saw was two smoking hot women in yoga pants and sports bras working out together. They were on a cable machine, touching each other's ass to help with their form. Then they helped each other stretch. It was like soft core porn. Every guy in the gym suddenly had to use the equipment in that area. Anymore with all the people filming I keep to myself. Earbuds in eyes down. I don't need any problems. I also know my wife would not appreciate it, so I try to think about that when I'm there.

I met my GF in the gym so there's that.

What annoys me the most frequently is people re-racking weights in a non logical/ non sequential manner -like putting a single 5 lbs plate in between 2 45s. Iron plates were designed with a lip so that you have a grip to wrap your fingers around so that you don't drop the plates on your toes. As a result, they were designed to be held with the lip facing away from the body and placed on the bar with the lip facing in, not out. Very few people seem to understand this (my gym owner doesn't even understand this) and because they rack the plates with the incorrect orientation on the bar, people tend to rack the plates back on the trees incorrectly with the lips facing in. That makes it rather difficult to retrieve 45s off the weight trees because you can't get a purchase with your fingers.

Next up: People who go out their way to use bumper plates when squatting or bench pressing or doing other movements which don't require bumper plates. People will straight up walk all the way across the gym to retrieve bumper plates vs. the readily available iron plates. Seems rather obvious that they just want to use larger sized weights. Then, they rack the bumper plates amidst the iron plates. Lame AF.

People who ask for a "spot" while squatting in a rack with safety bars. why? also, Uhm, no.

Quarter squatters. Bonus points if it is a quarter squatter going out of their way to use bumper plates, but particularly people who seem to be proud of themselves for quarter squatting some amount of weight. Maybe they even write their "1 rep max" on the gym chalk board. This then seems to breed a localized culture around quarter squatting where everyone pretends that they squat no ridiculous amount of weight and they are super proud of themselves. This shit should be shamed into oblivion.

Besides all the above , there's one girl that stares at the weights like shes mad at them , 15lb dumbbells , does maybe ten lifts or curls , then drops them on the ground and walks around the gym for five minutes . Again , like shes mad , then does it all over again . Cute girl , I wanted to ask her why so mad at the weights , but she scares me , a little , ....

Morbidly obese people that don't do enough to break a sweat. How is that possible?

I work out at one of the planet fitness gyms in Boise, five days a week. Not much to complain about; wife and I are retired and United Health pays for PF membership. Biggest issue by far has been two or three people sitting on equipment and talking politics. One guy was the main instigator - he was a pudgy guy and I think his workouts were largely symbolic. Someone may have complained - he hasn't been around for two weeks.

More than ten years ago (before Boise's population absolutely exploded) I was at a locally owned gym working out. The gym is a big, well-equipped, co-ed facility with probably 50 to 100 people working out at any one time. I finished working out and went into the men's locker room to wash my hands before I left for the day. As I'm washing my hands, I glance in the mirror and see this super-fit, blonde guy about 30 years old with a waxed body and a nearly fully-erect penis sporting a Prince Albert piercing parading around the locker room. And I do mean parading. He was talking with anyone and everyone who even glanced his way, which was difficult not to do. Never saw the guy before or since, but I was stunned at this visual - especially that piercing, which I never knew was "a thing." I'll tell you what, I got the hell out of that locker room as fast as I could.

There's a guy that I will see semi regularly (has to be in his 70s) that wears yoga pants/shorts that would make an OF girl blush.

I mean like the tightest material and extremely thin. Looks like stretchy tissue paper. You get to see the whole package.
