My guess is that it may have been cheaper to pay a trespass fee, you figure 5 loads; 1-getting hunters in, 2-4 sling loading meat, 5-getting hunters out plus insurance, fuel, etc... Plus now you may have lawyer fees if you get counter sued for some unknown reason.

I dunno.
Just googling stuff: I looked at Grand Canyon / Garden of Gods tours.
$130/per person. Seems to be similar helicopter as one in video
NYC 30min tour $260-380
That’s based on 3 -4 passengers
In this video it was 4 min each way. + however far he came from.
3x hunters at $5k per landowner tag =$15k
Seems like helicopter is way cheaper ride

One of the threads about a year ago a guy was packing out a meat and took a shortcut to the road across a small stretch of private. If I recall correctly he was charged with game/hunting related trespassing and he tried making the argument that he was only packing and not hunting but it didn't fly. I'll see if I can find the thread. Not sure what state it was though.

They can't have it both ways. I agree with @Bearded Bowhunter, G&F will be looking closely at this. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up charging the LO, taking back the determination that the hunters were no longer hunting; time will tell.

Feel free to post the "you are a dumbass" comments here but hopefully I can save some other new hunter some stress.

I got my first bull elk in I Idaho last fall on state land. I came up through public land early in the dark and waited for daylight. I got my bull first thing in the morning and got it tagged and bagged very early. I spent the next several hours moving the game bags around to keep them cool while waiting on the other hunters in the group to call it a day. I had the proper tag, weapon and location.
