The Start of a 6.5 light elk build

Just the action.

Brownells stocks them exclusively, I believe. My 20" 6.5 with bronze cerakote was $450 (on sale). Some are more some are less. .243, 6.5, 7-08, 308
I was trying to find that one, only one i could find in a shorter barrel was a 22" in 6.5 on brownells, but sold out as well.

I ordered the Tikka, time to figure out glass and rings, a stock, and suppressor, in that order.

Worst case scenario I'll use my CGS Hyperion for now. Its not exactly heavy by any means.

Ahh, I miss read your post. I was thinking they stocked the actions only. I have bought a couple barreled actions off there. I almost bought a super light but wasn’t sure about stock choices, until Stocky’s added it. And, wasn’t sure about barrel tenon thread.

What bottom metal do you use?

I am sorry. I should have said barreled action.

I am using the factory plastic for the time being. That said, I am gentle with my guns and do not over torque things as some do.

Got a chance to head up to northern michigan..had to borrow a scope but this new tikka worked out pretty well.

Not an elk..but it worked damn good on a white-tail. Blood trail was amazing with hornady eldx precision hunter rounds
