The Shoot2hunt Podcast

What form factor is this? Too high for G1 BCs.

Form factor is a metric to compare how high a bullets BC is given it's weight and diameter. Lower form factor # = better in regards to how slick a bullet is aerodynamically. G7 BC = Sectional Density of bullet / Form Factor. Most companies dont publish that number but it is an interesting one to use in comparing berger bullets.

Form warned me about the Eldms, but I haven't seen it firsthand. The only other animal I've shot at sub-2000 FPS with eldms was a bull elk, which I took down with a 147 eldm, and it worked as usual. This experience only reinforces my love for the 6UM.

I wasn't planning to shoot the 7PRC that day — nor at that distance, although I had validated it up to 1200 yards the day before. I had taken my son-in-law out to shoot a doe, but I went to a spot where I had seen a big buck the week before. As luck would have it, I spotted that buck chasing a doe and moving toward the timber. I tried to get my son-in-law on the buck, but he couldn't find it in the scope. I told him to switch to the spotter.

I hit the buck with five out of six shots, only spotting one hit, VERY frustrating. My son-in-law said I was shooting high, but I was actually shooting through him. Lesson learned: only hunt with a 6UM when big animals are on the table!

Interesting! and somewhat disheartening.

With that being said, I took a buck at 730 a few weeks back with the same exact bullet out of a 7PRC. Impact velocity would have been about 2020FPS and it shattered the scapula, broke 2 ribs on the way in, and the organs were liquid. Deer didn't take a step.

Some photos;

The truest thing I have ever heard on a podcast was when Yall talked about turning 40..

At 39 and 364 days old: wake up, get some smack batter on my hooya bone, eat steak and eggs, JiuJitsu, go shoot for a few hours, lunch, weightroom and run, scotch and bed...

Hits 40: crippled for two days because I slept longer than 6 hours, throws back out wiping ass, smells a beer and is hung over the next day.... WTF

I gets better!
I'm closing in on 50 and now I get hang overs from chocolate, any good bread and microwave popcorn...

This is what I get to look forward to…?

Yep, I’m 60 and got none of that shit happening
Well I am 59 and I'd say you are a mighty lucky feller lol course in 2017 when I got hit with GBS, that really took its toll at 51. I try to stay young at heart, and still work, but some days are harder than others. LOL specially sleeping lol but at least I wake up to pee, that is better than peeing and then waking up lol

I dont eat any sugar as part of my regular diet. Well a few weeks ago I had a craving for some sweets, so my wife made me some brownies and I ate 2 or 3 of them that night. I woke up the next morning feeling like I had the flu, or a hang over. Nauseous, headache, it was insane.

Yall need to stop telling yourself that “you’re getting old” and that would stop happening.
I live by this, inspired by my wife. That mentality is poison. Whater your self talk is will become reality. Im telling myself I'm getting younger every year.

That’s an easy fix. Just incorporate more sugar into your diet, preferably large amounts at every meal and that flu, nausea, and headache will go away as your body adapts. You’re welcome 😂

What’s wild to me, when I hit 40 and everyone on the periphery outside of my family and friends, would start to tell me how I was going to feel. When I tell them I feel better at 40 than I did at 30 they’ll always insist the wheels are about to fall off- they NEVER ask how I feel better a decade closer to the grave.
