The Shoot2hunt Podcast

Ben’s a great guy and a bad ass mountain hunter!

If it comes back online, if someone could send a link, I’d like to listen on my way down south to hunt tomorrow afternoon.

@B_Reynolds_AK. Your comment about enjoying the process of a sheep hunt hit me in the feels hard. Its been 3 years since my DIY dall sheep hunt with my brother and I think about it every single day. We both shot rams but the process from hunt prep to the rugged wild of the Brooks Range is what I treasure the most. I yearn to go back so bad Its actually physically painful sometimes.

Great listen man, well done 👍

Agreed, I was gonna buy another top but the price increase was a bit prohibitive. I paid €53.64 last year, now €89.00 normal price.

@Brad@Argali is starting a clothing line I hear…

Or maybe another addition to the Mountain Pursuit line from @Brigham @ Outdoor Vitals ??
Well the funny thing is I’ve got prototypes of a few variations of mesh bottoms that pre-date anything in the Mountain Pursuit line by at least a couple of years.

So did I miss something? I’ve always heard that eldms operating fps is 1800 fps +? On the most recent podcast @Ryan Avery talks about having bullets “pencil through” at 1950 fps with the 180s in a 7mm prc?!

You’re not the only one. I thought 1800fps for ELDM was the reliable number also. Good thing I can’t shoot that far to worry too much about it. Lol.

This has been known. I have stated for 5+ years that ELD-M’s are not AMAX’s now. Due to the small nose opening, and tip material- every once in a while some ELD-M’s produce narrow wounds- primarily the 22cal 88gr, 6.5 147gr, and 7mm 180gr. Not all of them, and certainly not regularly- Barnes TTSX fail to open orders of magnitude more often for instance. But it is something to be aware of.

Would the 140gr 6.5 ELDM be less likely to do this?
