Why do you guys feel the need to get into the "hunting influencer"/ YouTube hunting content game? Filming hunts and producing hunting videos has been beat to death by the thousands of wanna be famous insta hunters...you guys are killing it with the gear and gun driven content. I just don't see the need for the hunting videos.

I'm sure someone will say " well just don't watch that stuff" and i won't but I hate to see a good thing turn into what I know it will once the hunting content starts to roll out.

Edit: this is coming from a guy who's been along with the so called "content creator's " on a few hunts. And after seeing what goes into those recorded hunts and the staged b.s., the B roll, the play by plays, interviews, etc....it just all takes away from the purity of the hunt and was such a major turn off from that whole content driven hunting. Now I can't stand the stuff. I want to experience the hunt to the fullest not have a damn camera out at all times.

I think the difference will be that Ryan and Jake are probably not going to sell out their credibility and ethics for a 25% of code for a Chinese headlamp and a logo at the beginning of a video.

Thats probably true, but going out with a camera and or crew, and the goal is to make content for YouTube, priorities can change. And at what point does it still remain hunting and not producing content?

...everyone wants to be a so called "influencer" nowadays.

You can only do so many bag dump you've before that gets stale. They could just start doing cartridge comparison talks like every other YouTuber trying to eek out content.

Some talks I want to hear:

Hunting methods:
Backpack
Drop camp
Trucks
SXS/ATVs
Livestock - goats/llamas/mules/horses

Maybe some of those are standalone talks.

Rifle geometry and shooting form from Form. Prone versus bench vs tripod vs offhand. Scope eye relief position, length of pull based on body geometry, spotting shots, etc.

I understand this topic might have to wait until after the June shooting course (that I desperately wanted to attend)..but....

How about a podcast with form, describing the methodology to training in broken mountainous terrain. Zero, basic fundamentals to be honed prior to field shooting, then specific drills in broken terrain.

Perhaps based around an avg. guy scenario.."I have a shootable platform (.223, 6mm, 6.5), live reasonably close to the mountains and am committed to spending multiple weekends shooting, I've got 400rds spread out over multiple weekend trips." What focused shooting (not just splash and giggle) drills should that guy be doing?

Or maybe have THLR on the podcast and reference his early lr training videos.

Just some ideas. Easy for me to recommend, probably a ton of work to put together.

I am signed up and this is correct. The class email they sent out is 300-400 rounds and expect 10 hours a day of in the field shooting.

The new display in the 8k monocular and 10k binos is a different style, instead of having fixed elements it’s got an entire matrix of pixels. Because there is a full screen worth of pixels, they built in functionality to move the reticle on the display to match where the laser ACTUALLY is.

I'm glad you posted this. Me and my hunting partner were ranging the same cows in some timber last weekend. He consistently got 330 yards with his brand new Vortex. I consistently got 439 yards on my 23 year old Nikon ProStaff 550.

We both agreed it was more then 330. But it made me remember the podcast and I couldn't remember what brand.

Had 13 hours in the truck today and another 13ish on Friday… Getting caught up on some of these podcasts.

Man… when @Ryan Avery mentioned how the zippers on those stupid baggy mom jeans go up to their fricken neck… I don’t think I’ve laughed out loud that hard in a long long time.
